Presentation on "How to save our Environment..?"

Conducted an Seminar at Oxford English High School, in Lal Bahadur Shastri Nagar near by to Annasandrapalya.

Approx 50 - 60 students from 8th, 9th & 10th were present.

Seminar was totally based on Environmental Issues and How to Save.?

  1. Use compact fluorescent light bulbs:
It is true that these bulbs are more expensive, but they last much longer and they can save energy and in the long term your electricity bill would be reduced.
  2. Donate:
You have tons of clothes or things you want to get rid of. If they are still usable, give them to someone who needs them. You may also choose to give them to associations. These associations may sell them and collect a little money. Not only will you protect the environment, but you will also contribute to a good cause.
  3. Turn off your devices:
When you do not use a house device, turn it off. For example, if you don't watch TV, turn it off. Turn off the light when you leave a room (even if you intend to return.) It's an easy habit to take up which will help you save a lot of money.
  4. Walk or cycle:
Driving is one of the biggest causes of pollution. If you want to use your car, ask yourself the following question: do I really need my car? Walk or use your bike if the journey is a short one.
  5. Detergent:
Follow the recommended dose of detergent to wash your clothes or dishes.
  6. leaky faucets:
Watch leaky faucets, which can cause a significant increase in the the water bill. An average of 120 liters of water can be wasted due to a dripping faucet.
  7. Rainwater:
Think of recovering rainwater. This water can be used for different purposes.
This list is far from being exhaustive but in addition to saving the environment, all these tips will help you save money.

Exam & Tips on How to Prepare for Exam

The word “Exam” is the nightmare of the lives of most of the students. They bring a lot of stress, anxiety and frustration with them.

If you ask a school student that whether they want to take an examination or not, I am damn confident that majority would say “NO”.  Exams are considered as a source of grading (Grades) the capabilities or potential of students.

It is a standard system to test knowledge which is being practised in almost all schools. It is the fear of both, bright and weak students.  You like it or not but you have to take exams every year because there is no other system being introduced by Government of India.

There are Advantages and Disadvantage of Exam too, please go through below,

Advantages of Exams -
1.     Exams helps one to increase their knowledge.
2.     Create Competitions.
3.     Have a bright future.
4.     Develops Personality and Confidence.
Take a note, the above advantages are for those, Who are bright in the studies and manage to get good score. Now the question is, who are not bright and does not take good scores, then comes all types of uncomfortable thinking, these are called as Disadvantages of Education.

Disadvantages of Education -
1.     Stress and fear
2.     Not really a fair method of testing Knowledge.
3.     May loose confidence (If does not get Good Scores.
More over you see, all students are equal, they all are different in their own style. Some are Good Scores, Some are Average scores and Some are Slow.

Scientifically it is proven that, No child is born as dum in education, they are called as Slow Learners. If education system gives them little more time, they will be equal to to those students who cracks exams.

Tips on How to Face Exams,
1.     Prepare in Advance - Never prepare for your Exams one night or day before, because there are very high chances that due to stress and fear, you might forget or get confused in answer. The best practice of preparing for exam is to, study concepts when teacher takes at school or collage. This enables you to remember those concepts for a longer period of time. Hence, when you take during final preparation, it will be easy and does not require much time to complete it.
2.     Make your own Note - Making your own notes in your words. This is the best way, to remember answers, it is because you would have framed answers  in your words. If any students follows this, there is "NO NEED TO BY-HEART OR MEMORISE".
3.     Practise by Writing -  After studying the concepts, make sure you write the answer once or twice, this is because, it eliminates, Spelling mistakes, grammar mistakes. This method is 100% important when you are solving problem related to Mathematics, Physics, & Chemistry.
4.     Make Time Table - Identify subjects or concepts which require more time to get fully Prepared. Don't ignore the easy subjects or concepts as it also require preparation before exam.
5.     Make Study Group - Study Group is also the best way to study, as it inculcates Competition, Interest & Clear Doubts if any. If in case the Group Study is misled, then you should avoid it and start learning or studying alone.
6.     Eat healthy and Drink Lot -  When exams are nearer, avoid eating junk foods and eat healthy and good food, as this might increase your memory power, strength and boldness to face exam. Drink lot of water, as it lower your anxiety, and maintain your body functioning properly.
I guess these 6 points of preparation is more than enough to get through Exams. If you have some more points, do add in comments. and share if you have liked...!!!

All the Best..!!!!
